About Us

Located in Calumet, Illinois, Cedar Park Cemetery is a familiar landmark in the area, having served the needs of area residents for decades.

The beautiful property, graced with dozens of acres of green lawns that attract local wildlife and deer, to the natural stonework walls, structures and pathways of the property offer a pastoral sense of strength, dignity, and grace unequaled in more modern cemetery properties.

Main features of the property include flat, sprawling green spaces, clustered trees that offer shade in the heat of summer and shelter in cooler climes and exquisite landscape design, shrubbery arrangements and floral beds are some of the most beautiful and eye-catching features of the property.

For decades, (the cemetery was founded in the early 20th century), the property has been well maintained, with a funeral home on the grounds that serves the needs of different religions, cultures and heritage of surrounding community and Chicago residents. Native wildlife, including ducks, deer, squirrels and others mingle in close proximity to humans, taking advantage of the peaceful, safe and protected property. A pond on the property offers a safe haven not only for local and migrating ducks and geese, but a beautiful location for grieving family members to sit and reflect on their lives or the lives of their loved ones.

Cedar Park Cemetery is home to many area notables, including veterans, sports figures, poets and composers. The cemetery is located due south of downtown Chicago along Interstate 94, nestled between the Calumet Woods (Cook County Forest Preserve) and Lake Calumet. Visitors can take Interstate 94 due south, with a westbound turnoff onto East 130th Street, which doglegs into West 127th Street. Turn north on S. Halstead before reaching Calumet Park, and the property is located in the northwest corner of the intersection.
